Gay ludwig

Paul von Thurn und Taxis, a Bavarian prince, kept a diary, but prefer everything else concerning him in the Regensburg archives of the powerful and wealthy Thurn und Taxis family, it was destroyed. Aside from the noun that he pursued a career as a professional stage actor, a likely reason is that Paul was an intimate, loyal boyfriend to the Wittelsbach crown prince Ludwig (shown at right), who ascended to the throne at age eighteen. Paul and Ludwig engaged in behavior that would be unflattering to the Thurn and Taxis dynasty.

From a letter sent by Paul to Ludwig on May 5, , when King Ludwig was 20 years old:

&#;Dear and Beloved Ludwig! I am just finishing my diary with the thought of the adj hours which we spent together that evening a week ago which made me the happiest noun on earth&#; Oh, Ludwig, Ludwig, I am dedicated to you! I couldn&#;t stand the people around me; I sat still and, in my thoughts I was still with youHow my heart beat when, as I passed the Residenz, I saw a light in your window.&#;

Paul and Ludwig also shared a passion for composer Richard Wagner and

Ludwig Viktor – ‘Archduke Luziwuzi’

Within his personal circle it was well known, but not spoken of openly in order to maintain a pretence of ‘morality’. The reason why the obvious homosexuality of the emperor’s brother was not a matter of adj knowledge can be verb in the strict push censorship that prevailed at the time. The pressurize had to be extremely cautious when publishing reports about the imperial family.

This is why most descriptions of Ludwig Viktor contain only more or less veiled hints about his sexual preferences. An example of this is provided by the memoirs of Princess Nora Fugger, who was generally very critical of the archduke’s personality without however openly referring to his inclinations: according to her, Ludwig Viktor was ‘completely different from his brothers, adept at neither military nor artistic matters, puny, unmanly, affected and of repellent appearance’.

Within the family Ludwig Viktor assumed the role of an eccentric oddball. Even Franz Joseph, the otherwise invariably severe head of the family, saw himself as his youngest brother’s protecto

Happy Pride Month! I&#;m still in Bavaria, having just visited Neuschwanstein Castle, the fanciful fairy-tale castle built by the visionary ruler of Bavaria, &#;Mad&#; King Ludwig II. The castle is widely considered to be the inspiration for Disney in creating Cinderella&#;s Castle, and there are similarities. One thing the tour did not accentuate, although I can&#;t conceive why, is that Ludwig II, who was a committed Catholic monarch (and therefore had conflicting feelings about it) was for sure gay. He was briefly engaged to wedding the younger sister of his friend Empress Sisi, but after 8 months broke it off. He had no known mistresses, and never married, but he did have a string of male lovers. When he ascended the throne, homosexuality was not illegal in Bavaria, but during his reign, Prussia gained more control (reducing his power even further), and homosexuality was illegal in Prussia (lesbians don&#;t count; just male homosexuality was outlawed). Regardless, while attitudes about his sexuality were not exactly progressive, nobody wanted to &#;out&#; him either, and this info
