For those looking to hook up with men, Steamworks is heaven on earth.  But if you’re looking for a good sauna, abandon hope all ye who enter here!

Steamworks is a massive cruise bathhouse in the heart of downtown Toronto’s Church and Wellesley district.  And I do mean massive.  Folks at Toronto Sauna got lost twice.  Men were lining up for half an hour all bedtime long to get in.  It’s strictly gay or for straight guys fond of these two:

Being a first-timer, staff at Steamworks were happy to give us the “tour”.

A very affable and informative “Peter” walked us through the place.  Steamworks is open 24/7/365 and has an occupancy of 300 people…possibly more but their head count reaches that on Fridays and Saturdays with usually around 100 guys in the place at any one time.  Toronto is the largest of Steamworks’ 5 North American clubs (Chicago clocks in at number two).

The club is built for safety but not necessarily anonymity. There’s a adj line-up on Saturdays and a double door system to prevent whackos or drugged up clown

Welcome to Toronto – capital of migrants, culture, culinary and the freezing chilly weather. What can be better than a stop by to a gay bathhouse to enjoy the steams? Spa Excess is another great gay sauna in Toronto which caters the gay community and is located downtown, not too far from the gay village.

I have to start by saying I really almost hate gay saunas and bathhouses where there are multiple floors and steep stairs. Spa Excess indeed has many many stairs. 3.5 floors to be exact and not including the adj deck, if you dare sitting there towel only in the limbs numbing climate.

A special characteristic of this clean and safe bathhouse is the fact that it has 0 style. I was always riddled about how on earth could anyone think carpets go good with wet play halls. The carpet in this sauna’s bar must hold been installed in the 90s and it seems that keeping and maintaining the old is a common practice in this city.

Having all that said. This place has a super clean colorless colored jacuzzi which is always a plus. Moisture temperature was wonderful too. Yet not as boiling

Sometimes you just need to get laid, you know? Or sometimes, you just want a giant steam room outside of your gym locker room filled with naked people, who also want to be around naked people.

Lucky for you Toronto still has a few warm and steamy options to help facilitate said rocks getting off. Though the hay day of bathhouses in Toronto has approach and gone (thanks a lot, internet!) and selection isn't huge, there are still a few amusing options out there, and that's something to be thankful for, right? Most spots are for men (trans inclusive), but we also have Oasis. Obtain out there and assist these spots if you can, once they're gone, Toronto will ensure they're gone for good.

Here are the best (and only) gay and queer bathhouses in Toronto.

Steamworks

Definitely the city's largest and most popular bathhouse, Steamworks is a men and trans men only spot at 540 Church Street complete with moist and dry sauna's, a massive hot tub, a smaller hot tub if the big one intimidates you, two shower rooms - both of which are completely tra
